How does the liveness (face verification) check work?

What you'll be asked to do

During verification you'll be prompted to:

• Look directly at the camera
• Slowly turn your head in the directions shown on screen
• Hold still for a moment while the system captures your face

The whole process takes about 30 seconds.

Why we use a liveness check

A static selfie can be spoofed with a printed photo. A liveness check confirms that the person verifying the account is physically present — significantly reducing the risk of identity fraud and protecting your account from being verified by someone else without your knowledge.

Tips for a smooth liveness check

• Use a device with a front-facing camera in good working order
• Make sure the room is well-lit — your face should be clearly visible
• Remove sunglasses, hats, or anything covering your face
• Keep your face within the frame throughout the process

Note: The liveness check does not store video footage. Only the resulting match score and a still image are retained for compliance purposes.
